Plot Summary:Cosmic Era 73. Though the signing of a peace treaty brought the war between the Naturals and Coordinators to an apparent close, tensions fueled by the continued threat of Blue Cosmos continue to run high. During a conference between PLANT chairman Gilbert Dullindal and Orb representative Cagalli Yula Athha concerning the threat of a new military arms race, an Alliance special forces team attacks the ZAFT base they're meeting at and makes off with three new Gundam mobile suits. Forced to pursue them, Shinn Asuka of ZAFT and Athrun Zala of Orb set out aboard the new space battleship Minerva, and engage the retreating Alliance strike team in combat. But just as they catch up to the fleeing ship, the crew of the Minerva receives word of an even greater catastrophe in the making, which will undoubtedly re-ignite the brutal war between the Naturals & Coordinators all over again.

- For those who has watched the promotional videos for GSD, you can skip the first 3 minutes of the animation. Else, it's just the remake version of the battle between ORB and EAF during GUNDAM SEED's
PHASE 38 - Decisive Fire 「決意の砲火」.
[Who killed the Asuka Family: Freedom GUNDAM or Calamity GUNDAM?]
[Opening Sequence: ignited by T.M. Revolution]
- ZAFT's L4 Armoury-ONE is quite busy for the launch of ZAFT's newest battleship, called the Minerva.
[Minerva: Roman Goddess of War]
- One ZAFT officer notifies Gilbert, the current Supreme Chairman of PLANT, about the arrival of the ORB's Princess.
[ORB's Princess: Cagalli Yula Athha]
- Apprantly Cagalli was shocked to have the conference scheduled at Armoury-ONE on the day of Minerva's Maiden Voyage Ceremony.
- Conference between Cagalli and Gilbert to cease military use of ORB's technology and human resources.
[ORB's technology: Taken from both EAF and ZAFT]
[Intermission: Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne with many, many Haros - Advertisement/Toilet Break]
- While walking down the open hangars, showing ZAFT's latest Mobile Suit (MS) ZAKU at the same time, Gilbert praises the entire Athha Family for their deeds during the past war 2 years ago.
[When Gilbert talks about ORB building up armaments, Cagalli retaliate by telling Gilbert to stop calling her "Princess"]
- Sting, Auel and Stellar steal 3 prototype GUNDAM from one of ZAFT's poorly defended hangar after clearing the guards, pilots and technicians.
[And there goes Chaos (Sting), Gaia (Stellar), Abyss (Auel) GUNDAMs]
- The deployed ZAFT MS, aiming to stop those hijackers, prove to be easy kill for the 3 newest GUNDAMs.
- Athrun (known as Alex Dino to the unsuspecting ZAFT soldiers and officers) and Cagalli board the nearby fallen ZAKU Warrior, aiming to protect Cagalli, and fight Gaia.
- Chaos comes in and did some damage to Athrun's ZAKU.
- Core Splendor (Shinn) makes Chaos eat some missles (useless against PHASE SHIFT armor) and transforms his fighter unit into the Sword Impulse GUNDAM.
- Shinn Asuka:

Summary:
- Brief recap of the previous episode.
[Opening Sequence]
- Sword Impulse vs. Gaia with some interferrence from Chaos.
- Arthur, the Executive Officer of Minerva, scolds Shinn for trying to damage Gaia while trying to capture it but gets scolded by Talia, Captain of Minerva, in return.
[This was funny. ^^]
- One Mirage Colloid-ed ship approaches 2 Nazca-class ships and destory one of the 2 ships with its twin main cannons, the Gottfried.
[Masked Man again and again.]
[Before this: ZAFT commanding officers sure don't like Talia ording them around.]
- Dagger L from the unknown ship launches and at the same time, 2 Dagger units that approach Armoury ONE's space-port, destroy a few Laurasia-class ship, headquarter and the port entrance.
- After explosion, 3 GUNDAMs vs. 1 GUNDAM with Abyss attacking with its powerful beam cannon from the front, Chaos from above Sword Impulse and Gaia from behind.
- Athrun saves Shinn but not without getting Cagalli injure from the blast coming from Abyss at near point-blank.
[What can one expect from a shield from a mass-production unit...]
- Gilbert is advised by a officer to board the Minerva as it is getting dangerous with poisonous gas leaking.
- Lunamaria and Rey board their own respective units, the ZAKU warrior and phantom and proceed to help Shinn in taking down those 3 units.
- Auel uses Stellar's block word ("Die") to force her to retreat.
- Lunamaria's unit thruster breaks down.
[Intermission]
- Athrun spots Gilbert heading toward Minerva and does the same thing himself.
[Where has the blood on Cagalli's face go to?]
- The Masked Man launches in his Exas, a Mobile Armour (MA), to buy them some time while waiting for those 3 units to return.
- Athrun with Cagalli, after dismounting from their damaged ZAKU, calmly name themselves as ORB's Representative Athha and her bodyguard, Alex Dino, to the gun-wielding Lunamaria.
- With no other weapons left, save the beam rifle, of the Sword Pack, Shinn changes his Sword Impulse into Force Impulse GUNDAM, shocking the pilots of those 3 units at the same time.
- Chaos, Gaia and Abyss make their escape after making a hole.
- Shinn and Rey pursue them will Impulse's energy level running low.
- Exas vs. Force Impulse.
- Cagalli accidentally calls Alex as Athrun.
- Minerva launches and Rey spots the Girty Lue (the unknown ship) from behind.

What justifies our time to watch this episode:

Summary:
- Brief recap of the previous episode.
[Opening Sequence]
- Exas (Masked Man) vs. Force Impulse GUNDAM (Shinn) & ZAKU Phantom (Rey).
[Shinn proves to be rather ineffective to attacks from all angles.]
- Newtype-reaction: Rey and the Masked Man.
[This is expected.]
- Minerva starts firing on Girty Lue.
[And in the meantime, refers to Girty Lue as Bogey-1.]
- Rey destorys 2 out of 4 Exas's attack pods.
[And force the Masked Man to retreat.]
- Girty Lue retreats soon after.
[Not before detaching their fuel pods and detonating them right in front of Minerva.]
- Minerva continues pursuing Girty Lue.
- Lunamaria reports to Talia about Cagalli and Alex (Athrun) and has given medical attention to the injure Cagalli.

- The Masked Man and Lee talk about some stuffs and the 3 pilots.
[Lee is the other guy in charge of Girty Lue when the Masked Man goes out to combat.]
- Cagalli and Gilbert talk about the stolen units and their carrying ship.
- Gilbert offers Cagalli and Athrun a little tour of Minerva.
[Much to Talia's dismay.]
- Lunamaria speculates that Alex might be Athrun.
- Gilbert introduces Minerva's hanger and its unique Impulse and its launching system.
[He seems to be enjoying it like Cagalli said.]
- Cagalli is angry at the power of the 3 stolen units that caused destruction to Armoury ONE.
[Before Gilbert can finish his sentence, Shinn interrupts that says all Athha's words are and will always be sugar-coated.]
- Both ships (Minerva and Girty Lue detect each other presence at the same time.
- Rey apologizes fro Shinn's words, Gilbert follows suit soon after.
- Gilbert requests permission from Talia to have Cagalli and Athrun's presence in the bridge to see Minerva's battle from their point of view.
- Girty Lue, launches a decoy, after anchoring itself to the nearby asteroid and at the same time shuts down its engines.
- Gunner ZAKU Warrior (Lunamaria) and Blast Impulse GUNDAM (Shinn) launch.
- Gilbert deliberately calls Alex as Athrun.

Summary:

- Talia and Meyrin still "..." over the fact that Alex is Athrun.
- Chaos, Gaia and Abyss standing by at some abandoned colony while Girty Lue still has its engines off.
- Shinn and Arthur wonders why Girty Lue hasn't respond with MSs yet.
- Talia: "Crap!", Athrun: "It's a decoy!"
[A round of applause to our Captain of Minerva.]
- Chaos, Gaia and Abyss ambush Shinn, Lunamaria and 2 Guaiz-R MSs (free frags) and at the same time Girty Lue on Shinn and Minerva's radar disappears.
- Girty Lue appears behind Minerva and launches 2 Dagger-L MSs, missiles and fires its main cannons.
- Minerva uses the nearby asteroid as a shield against missiles.
[Archangel's helmsman > Minerva's helmsman, Battleship without MS support < MS]
- Shinn against Chaos and Abyss, Lunamaria against Gaia.
- Girty Lue fires waves of missiles onto the asteroid that Minerva is clinging to.

- Rey gets send out to fight off the incoming MSs and MA.
- Athrun decides to help Minerva by coming up with a suggestion.
[Arthur seems to be not receptive towards Athrun's suggestion. He seems... more worried about the Minerva and not his own life.]
- Talia decides to go with Athrun's suggestion.
[Arthur's face: "%^#%&^$%@^%#*"]
- The Masked Man's MA and 2 Dagger-L MSs (free frags) fights Rey.
- Minerva, after getting out from the trap, fires its Tannhäuser (Minerva's Positron Cannon) at Girty Lue and manage to damage Girty Lue.
- Both ships retreat, needing repairs.
- Meyrin tells the pilots that Alex is indeed Athrun.
[Pilots: Shinn, Lunamaria and Rey.]
- Some talks between Talia and Cagalli, Talia, Gilbert and Athrun after Cagalli heads inside to the resting room.
[Athrun apologizing to Talia for overstepping his bound.]
- Athrun thinking about the past until the pilots plus Meyrin come in and said some stuffs to Athrun with the exception of Meyrin and Rey.
[Athrun seems to be known to ZAFT as the legendary ace pilot, instead of just plain traitor.]
- PLANT observatory center detected that Junius-SEVEN is moving.
- Shinn plays back his sister, Mayu's, recorded voice on her cellphone.

[Blur Captain in the making!!! Talia, as a Captain, needed Athrun suggestion to get out of their predicament while she's still space-dreaming (there's no day or night in space).]
What will stop you from watching this episode:
Athrun not offering help to pilot MS to protect Minerva.
[Protect Minerva == Protect Cagalli at the same time since she's within the ship. So much for a bodyguard. LOL!]
